Madrid prevailed 2-0 in their home league fixture at Santiago Bernabéu on Saturday. Despite the victory, Real Madrid still find themselves at the bottom of the table, while Valencia are fourteenth.
The local team took the lead thanks to a own goal by Wass in minute 8 and the first half ended 1 to 0.
Following the break, Madrid extended their lead and went on to claim a 2-0 victory with the last by Lucas Vázquez in minute 83.
As for substitutions, both coaches used all their permitted substitutions. For Madrid, Asensio, Valverde and Isco came on for Bale, Modrić and Ceballos, while Valencia introduced Piccini, Kondogbia and Batshuayi for Wass, Coquelin and Gameiro.
The referee dished out four players with the yellow card. He showed one yellow cards ( Ceballos ) to Madrid and three ( Gabriel Paulista, Soler and Gayà ) to Valencia.
After this positive result, Madrid are fifth with 23 points, while Valencia are fourteenth with 17 points.
On the following day, Real Madrid will play in away against Huesca, while Valencia will face Sevilla home.
