Eibar beat Real Sociedad 2-1


Eibar claimed a valuable victory at home against Real by 2-1.

Eibar picked up a 2-1 win in front of their own fans over Real, despite this victory Eibar remains in fifteenth position. Before kick off, the home team had gained 0 out of a possible 6 points in their last fixtures, while the visitors had draw their most recent game. With this defeat, Real are eighth, while Eibar remains fifteenth.

The match started favourably for the visitors. Real opened the scoring through Willian José after 15 minutes.The locals equalized in minute 26 thanks to a goal by Cardona and the first half ended 1-1.

During the second half, Eibar managed to turn the match around thanks to a goal by Charles in minute 91 and ended up conclusive 2-1 winners.

Both teams used all three substitutes. For Eibar, Joan Jordán, Cote and Charles were used in place of Orellana, Bigas and Cardona, while Real brought on Bautista, Zurutuza and Merquelanz to replace Willian José, Juanmi and Illarramendi.

The referee issued five yellow cards, booking Dmitrović, Diop and Rubén Peña of Eibar along with Juanmi and Illarramendi from the visiting side.

Following this result, Eibar claims the fifteenth position with 3 points. The team managed by Asier Garitano are eighth with 4 points.

The next day, Eibar will play against Atlético de Madrid in away and Real Sociedad will face Barcelona home.
