Barcelona beat Espanyol 0-4


Barça earned three points with a victory against Espanyol.

On Saturday Barça won an away game 0-4 against Espanyol. Before the game, the home team had had three consecutive defeats, while the visitors had win their most recent game. After this good result, Barcelona are first, while Espanyol are tenth.

The match started favourably for the visitors. Barça opened the scoring through Messi after 17 minutes. Barça widened their lead with a goal by Dembélé on 26 minutes. Espanyol scored once again in minute 45, thanks to of Suárez , to finish the first half at 0-3.

Following the break, Barça extended their lead and went on to claim a 0-4 victory with the last by Messi in minute 65.

Both teams used their full complement of substitutes. Baptistão, Sergio García and Granero were used by Espanyol in place of Pérez, Melendo and Darder, and Barça brought on Coutinho, Munir and Suárez for Dembélé, Suárez and Rakitić.

The referee booked Dídac Vilà from Espanyol, however didn’t book a single Barça player.

After their victory, Barça are first with 31 points, while the team managed by Joan Francesc Ferrer Sicilia, “Rubi” sits at the tenth position with 21 points.
